Homestead Barn Hop....

It was a busy busy weekend here at the farmstead.  Still so much to say we are finished with even one of the many projects we worked on.  It will come....Definately learnng the fruits of the spirit during this building project.  The weekend we fashioned our mailbox and planted it...that seemed to make things a little officical somehow lol.  Also James and Katie came and helped Larry put the thimble for the woodstove in the wall.  Always a little stressful cutting into the side of the house.  Also, we bought 300 pieces of already torn apart, nails removed and sanded down skid wood for 17 cents a piece.  We used not even a quarter of this and made the end wall a wooden wall in the living room.  Stained it a weathered grey and Larry made me a corner mantel.  While I was gone a little on Saturday morning he took the plywood we had been gifted and closed in the utility room and he will use some of this skid wood to further close it in and make a door.  All in all we feel we have had a pretty good and productive weekend.  This week will find us laying the stone floor and wall area around the woodstove.
Be well,
Lisa
