Two posts in one day....

Yes apparently I did miss it here...two posts in one day!  We spent the day working on a new kitchen project.  The mess of starting a project added to an already sorta messy kitchen made for a really grumpy ME!  But that changed.  The project was completed and the kitchen in top shape...I am absolutely in love with the new storage space as well as countertop.  The only expense was the countertop which actually was on clearance at lowes so a score for sure!  The skid wood...and free lumber....and re-purposed nails made for a very inexpensive project...if only they were all that way.  LOL...but I am absolutely in love with it!  Only thing needed to finish it is to butter the top and make and hang the curtain! Showers are done and a storm is hammering down on the cottage roof.  Off to enjoy some coffee and piece of cake.

Kinda miss it here....

Have sort of missed being here daily...or even weekly for that matter!  Hoping to change that onced again.  Yesterday was a sweet sweet shabbat spent relaxing with the Lumberjack.  Today however has been a bit of another work day.  As I said on the fb page...I have always been a cart before the horse kind of gal....soooo....we now have a gorgeous rose bed where the wall still needs to go up for the addition in front of the cottage...and two new Broomstick shrubs where the picket fence and gate need to be installed.  But hey when you can get these things for more than half off its a little hard to wait.  Now its raining and thundering and we are settled here in the living room waiting for a respit to get started on yet another project.  I love this of summer...the storms...sitting here in the living room with my love listening to the distant thunder and the rain tapping on the metal cottage roof...Dinner wont be far off then a relaxing evening!

Its been a good working weekend...

Its Sunday.  And im glad for it!!  The Lumberjack has had me hanging ceiling panels with him since yesterday afternoon and im tired!!  It does look so much better already.  And I dont even miss the cathedral.  Next up will be to add the white Bead Board and the trim, throw in a large wool Aztec Rug, finish that horrid job of grouting around the woodstove and we are FINISHED the living room!!  If there is to be a chapter four....it will NOT involve do it yourself projects!!  The next week looks a little full on the calendar so hoping to get back to the daybook next week.

Friday Oh Friday.....

How I thought you would never get here.  Still struggling with the hives issue.  Lots of lavendar oil and Wild Lettuce Tincure.  It was a good day...well...yeah...it was good.  I took the pup walks and after the second one found a tick had bit me...on the neck no less!!  With the Lumberjack at work and the mother in law not home I headed straight for Katies to have James remove the little demon!!  Oh how I dislike them...no I hate them!!  Ugh!  Dinner this evening was baked oatmeal as Cassie and Karl and the grands were coming for a visit.  Firefly spent the evening with the kittens and making homes for them in the living room.  She also took the fish home as I really am not good at tending him.  Jacob was just a little fussy but hey when your two months old you can be fussy anytime you want.  He is just amazing.  Straightened up the living room after they left but it wont stay that way long.  We are planning to skip church tomorrow and tackle the entire living room ceiling.  Hoping to beat some heat by Monday.  Well headed to bed.

Happy Thursday!!

One day closer to the weekend.  Not that we have any big major plans for this weekend but the Lumberjack is home and thats plenty enough for me!!  Today started out fairly cool outside but heated up by the mid day and called for windows closed and the ac units running.  We did make time for some pup walks before it got warm.  Planted a few more things in the garden tonight and hoping to have ALL planted by next weeks end.  Potato soup for dinner.  Barn chores are all done for the evening and the garden has been watered.  Took a photo of the garden gate this evening as I was admiring it.  Took some time last week and loved on it a bit and it makes it so nice to look at from the cottage across to the garden.  Time to rub some Lavender Essential Oil on some hives I have on my legs and a dose of Wild Lettuce Tincure in the water bottle.  Not sure where they came from but they sure can go back!!

Wednesday...Blessed wednesday!

What a turn the weather had for me today!  So absolutely glorious out.  The breeze blew all day and the temps in the sixties.   I finished all of the barn chores and coffee, garden walk, and devotions early and headed to town to see my sister for a little while.  Been a few weeks and I had really missed her.  A shower and headed to run a few errands.  The thrift store proved well as did Marshalls onced again.  Lowes as well with some dollar annuals for the garden fencing area.  Home and the Lumberjack brought home some pizza.  Both of us are exceptionally tired and calling it an early evening with some television together before bed.

Tuesday...and what a day it was!

The day started out normal as ever but turned very quickly!  Up...Coffee....Devotions....Garden walk....milk the goat...barn chores....check fb...BAM!  The local law enforcement page had quite the update.  Apparently there was a state police car stolen and the man was on the run...what they did NOT tell you until six hours later is that in the car was an ar/15...a smith and wesson...and a 12 gauge.  So sitting and reading...then I hear a helicopter...headed out to walk Reggie and noticed that chopper was circling our home...over and over again.  So low he shook the house!  No walk!  Came in the house and retired for a few hours.  Then when things seemed calm time to walk the little man.  Oh yeah nice leisurely stroll....headed back to the house and almost to the drive when i see a cop pull into our driveway!  FREAK out!!  He went to the farm behind us a 300 acre farm that is only occuppied occassionally!  Waited on the officer who informed me that the man was somewhere in those freakin 300 acres and i needed to go in and lock my doors.  Yes sir!!!  Called the lumberjack who decided it was a good time to take a half days vacation and head home to protect me!  Thank you Jesus!!  He was captured on the corner of our property and the neighbors!!  In the old church!!  Freaky!  Well dinner is over the dishes are about to be done and the strawberries have been planted.  Both of us are struggling this evening with some sinus issues so early night it will be.  Hoping for a calm peaceful day tomorrow.

A hot HOT monday....

YUCK!  Yes I know I wanted summer...but slowly!  This heat is unbearable to say the least.  We have now put two ac units in the cottage and its not doing the job!  Figured out this afternoon what I believe to be the problem.  Ran it by the Lumberjack and he totally agrees even thought so sooner but didnt want to break my heart with the news.  Well let me just tell ya....my creature comforts are far more important to me than the beauty of our home!  So we wont necessarily be keeping the cathedral ceilings.  They will be higher than the bathroom of course but not so much cathedral.  With a metal roof and the pitch nothing will cool properly and that is far more important at the end of the day!  So we will be finishing the ceiling in the living room and kitchen area in the next three weeks!  Giving the heat someplace to go and the units the chance to cool properly.  Soooo I sit here patiently waiting on him to get home so we can slap back some supper then head out to do the evening barn chores together and work a little in the garden space before retiring for the evening.  This is truely the best part of my day....making him dinner and waiting on him to get home!  Rain may even happen later this evening...praying hard for some anyhow!

                                                                       For today:
                                                                      May 4, 2015

Outside my window.....Bright blue skies.  To be very warm and pleasant.  Lumberjacks birthday is today and he is coming home early.  Maybe a bike ride!

I am thinking......About those canadian goose I tried to "save"....ended up returning them and she hatched them out....but im NOT sure the poison on my legs was worth the attempt.

I am thankful for......This lovely screen porch and the view while snuggling that little bundle of joy for the afternoon while his mommy got some work done and a shower.

Frocks and Frills.....Onced again in navy...only actually got myself "cleaned" up onced this week and it was lovely being able to be home and in the outside without having to get all dressed up this week.  The cardy is a new favorite and the skirt was soooo comfy!

I am creating......Flower pot art for the veranda

I am going.....To master this hoop dancing thing!!!

I am wondering.....Just how long and how terrible this round of poision will be!

Quote of the week.....

I am hoping.....To have a week of errands and activities and still find that slow time in between!

I am learning.....

I am pondering....These two beautiful blessings of grandbabies....so praying for more!

Pins on the agenda.....          Bean and rice burritos

                                                    BBQ cauliflower salad

                                                     Maple caramel bacon crack

I am reading.....Emmas gift....the sequel to Julias Hope...which Katie promptly took home last night! lol

One of my favorite things....Met Marcy at a new coffee shop in Martinsburg...new to me anyhow.  Definately a place I will be frequenting!

Plans for the rest of the week.....Wednesday helping Cassie with baby Jake while she cleans for a friend of hers,  Thursday errands and lunch with Karla,  Saturday and evening out with the Lumberjack and Tom and Tess for some bluegrass music and local crafter beers,  And a family birthday celebration with the family to celebrate the love of my life turning 50!!!

For the love of all things green growing and nourishing.....Progress being made.  The fencing has been put up and the chooks are not happy but I sure am!  The area around the garden and in the driveway has been cleared and seeded with grass.  Loving the progress!!

One stone at a time....Cut yet another hole in the cottage wall!  The ac unit is in and will remain there.  Love that it has been made permanent without taking window space.
