The Daybook.....

                                                         April 20, 2015

Outside my window.....Warm...slight breeze...clouds brewing up a good looking storm for the evening.

I am thinking.....That quite possibly the next vehicle we get will be a soft top jeep....love the wind blowing in a moving vehicle!

I am thankful for.....A loving and forgiving Husband....Backed right into a tree...a very small tree...that was NOT very giving!

Frocks and Frills.....The lumberjack so graciously decided to share his horrible head cold with me about mid week so for the weekend coffee date I so desperately needed I went a little more chill than I would have chosen.  Black flip flops...Grey summer weight skinny jeans...the softest workout tank....long fillagree silver leaf necklace...and a grey cardy as the evening wore on.  And the words on the tank..."If all else fails take a nap"...PERFECT!

I am creating.....Still working on the veranda...one living wall hanging complete two more to go and I really LOVE them...

I am going.....To never ever tire of spending time at the Amish greenhouse!!  Even when its overflowing with people I find myself getting lost in a dream!

I am wondering....Just exactly how long we will make it without the A/C units!

Quote of the week.....

I am hoping....To get to hold this little monkey butt at least weekly!  To take a weekly photo of him and watch him grow on here.  He is absolutely amazing!

I am learning......That its the little things that make the greatest of memories.  A simple lunch of a new recipe..."frito dip"...no not healthy but oh so good...with the girls and a movie in the afternoon.

Around the farmstead....UGH!!!!!!!!!  Well it would appear that our Pekin ducks are not good at reproducing!!  A new drake is on his way by fall but that wont get us any duck meat for the freezer this year!!

In the kitchen....Seriously the BEST kale salad I have ever had!  My version...3 cups cooked wild rice, 3 cups finely chopped kale, 1 cup chopped grapes, 1 cup crumbled feta, Dressing...1 chopped onion, 4 Tb honey, 4 Tb olive oil, 4 Tb water, 2 Tb apple cider vinegar, 1 Tb lemon juice blended with a stick blender.

And some yummy Miso Teriyaki salmon!

This pizza....AHHH yes this pizza!!  BBQ chicken pizza with red onions and smoked gouda!

Fresh Home grown chicken!!  Look at all those colors in the broth!  And theres nothing like your own dried herbs in a mortar and pestle!

And remember that Brussel Sprouts and Kale salad I pinned....well gave it a try to go with the chicken...OMG...I used some horseradish cheese instead of the parmessan....its so delicious!  Your mouth just pops with flavor and its so stinking good for you all those raw veggies!!

I am pondering.....Hulu lessons....yep im taking the plunge!

Pins on the agenda.....

One of my favorite things.....I've said it before and for sure will say it again...BOWL FOOD!!!  No matter the meat its always so good and sooooo healthy!  Fresh made saurkraut, fresh made sour cream, last years salsa, cheese, avocado and seasoned chicken breast!  YUMMY...

Plans for the rest of the week....Monday a trip to Frederick with the sister for a dr appt and thrown in a few extras for fun....Tuesday night the first Hulu Dancing Lesson....Errands on Wednesday and lunch with Tess at Nathan Millers Chocolates, Lunch date with the Sister to celebrate her Birthday on Thursday to Flying Pie then an evening with a bottle of wine and a chinese lantern and box of tissues in the evening, Dinner date with the Lumberjack at the river with pappy foods and plastic toy boats on Friday night, Farm Swap in Maryland on Saturday, and Sunday A Market Faire with the Lumberjack at a local fort and an evening family visit..  Yep let the wild rumpus of the busiest week of our summer begin!

For the love of all things green growing and nourishing.....Half of the garden is fenced in now for the other half to be cleared of all of the branches and finished.  The Elderberries have been planted, mostly all of the spring crops as well.  Hoping to get the Red, Black and Golden raspberries in this week as well.

Fleeting moments away from the farmstead.....3 hour coffee date with my kindred!
